Poorna Swami received the 2023 Jawad Memorial Prize and a 2024 Emerging Translator’s Mentorship from the American Literary Translators Association for her translations of Urdu literature. She was also awarded summer research grants by the Mittal South Asia Institute and the Asia Center at Harvard.
