Language Tutorial
The department language tutorials are for students who would like to study a language not taught by a preceptor currently in the department. These languages are below. It is primarily the student’s responsibility to identify an instructor and to create a plan of study for the semester. To submit a petition read the instructions on the Language Tutorial Petition online form, and then please follow the instructions on how to fill out and submit the online petition form.

Please make sure that your petition includes a statement with information on your interest of study for the language, and this should include the academic purposes for studying the language (i.e., in-country research projects, internships, thesis reading in the original language, relation to degree or professional goals). Family heritage, intellectual curiosity, or other personal reasons may be supplemental to your explanation, but it is not sufficient to receive approval for your petition.
