The inaugural International Symposium on the Buddhist Heritage of Gandhāra, set to take place this Saturday, March 23 at CGIS South S050 from 9am to 5pm. This event is co-sponsored by Harvard Asia Center, the Woodenfish, and WAKSAW Uddiyana. Our symposium seeks to unite scholars from around the globe in a comprehensive discussion on both the material and textual legacies of the Gandhāra region—present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, recognized as a cradle and inspiration of Buddhist culture and civilization for over a thousand years.
