Kattumaram (Catamaran) Film Screening and Filmmaker Q&A

Filmmaker and Director Swarnavel Eswaran (Professor, Department of English and the School of Journalism, Michigan State University) will join us for a screening of his film Kattumaram (Catamaran) on April 3, 5:30 – 7:30 at 485 Broadway, Lower Lecture Hall. The screening will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the filmmaker.

Kattumaram follows the story of Singaram and his niece Ananthi as their lives are changed by the arrival of Kavitha, a film instructor who comes to teach at their local school. Set in a coastal village in Tamil Nadu post-2004 tsunami, Kattumaram is a beautifully-filmed exploration of love in the context of natural and societal change.

The event is free and open to the public, but please click here to RSVP
